Ocean Quest also boasts a luxury 4 Star Lodge, Indoor Pool, Tour Bus, Conference & Social Facility and Full-Service Dive Shop.

Their Transport Canada Certified Boats are used for Expeditions - both locally and to historic sites in coastal Labrador - and for Diving, Nature and Scenic Tours around Conception Bay or the nearby Southern Shore of the peninsula.

Resort owner Rick Stanley was recently appointed as SCUBA Diving Advisor to Parks Canada due to his stalwart work in the industry. An ardent conservationist, he is a founder of Ocean Net and his passion for the sea and protection of what lies beneath the waves was recently recognized by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization). In their 2006 Special Edition book 'Heritage at Risk', Ocean Quest's activities are featured as a prime example of how preservation of the ocean's resources, marine life and underwater cultural heritage can benefit from a thriving tourism business. Add to this the fact that they are the winner of National, Provincial and Local Sustainable Tourism Awards for 3 consecutive years and it's not difficult to see why they are becoming one of the 'hottest' international adventure tourism operators.

The Bell Island Wrecks, four Allied ore carriers sunk by German U-Boats in 1942 with the loss of 69 lives, lie on the seabed in Lance Cove and are among the best preserved WWII shipwrecks in existence. Their excellent condition and interesting story draw divers from around the globe and provide the resort with steady business. Visiting journalists and film crews consider the area to be a nature lover's dream and diver's paradise, rivaling many tropical destinations. They depart with exciting stories to tell, breathtaking footage and indelible memories of a small part of the World which never fails to leave people yearning to return.

The Avalon Peninsula's aquatic environment offers adrenalin-pumping encounters with marine mammals, awe-inspiring natural beauty and incredible historical sites which are easily accessible to anyone visiting or living there. Learning to SCUBA Dive to enjoy these delights even more hasn't been simpler and Ocean Quest, the only Technical Diving & SCUBA Diving International (TDI/SDI) 5 Star Training Facility in Atlantic Canada, offers on-line training programs for new divers. These innovative SDI programs allow students to develop diving knowledge in their own home, at their own pace, prior to in-water training and certification, whilst still having access to instructors for guidance if they wish. The program is extremely popular, especially with people who want to learn but can't spare the time to attend classroom sessions or who live a long distance away. Online learning reflects people's lifestyles in the 21st Century and, importantly, is extremely thorough and enjoyable. Anyone wishing to qualify as a diver elsewhere - on vacation for example - can do the same online training, complete a 1 day pool session at OQ and receive a Global Referral to finish their certification wherever they choose. What about those who aren't sure about doing the course and simply want to try it out? They can go along to one of the resort's regular SCUBA Discovery sessions, available for ages 10+, which allow them to experience the excitement of diving in the OQ pool and is great fun for all. The resort also offers a wide range of recreational, technical and professional SCUBA courses year-round with TDI, SDI and the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), along with various First Aid training and Corporate Team Building programs. For certified divers, there's always something on the go at Ocean Quest and with regular shore dives, charters to the wrecks and a comprehensive SCUBA sales, rental & servicing facility, including dry suits, technical and underwater camera equipment, everything they need to keep on diving is right there.

Don't fancy diving? That's no problem for Ocean Quest. Take a trip along the scenic and historic Admiral's Coast from Paradise to Marysvale in their tour bus or enjoy a BBQ cruise to picturesque Bell Island and marvel at the geological wonders on display. Skim across the waves at a knuckle-whitening 30 knots aboard their expedition boat then stop and visit remote coves once frequented by pirates or watch majestic whales, breathtaking icebergs and the many species of seabirds which inhabit the area. Adventure is what OQ are all about - from a family day on Conception Bay to a voyage of discovery along the Labrador coast.
